Bridgton Easy Riders December Meeting

Meeting called to order 6:55 PM by President Blaine Chapman

Treasurer’s Report read by Mary Corthell, Treasurer

Minutes of November Meeting were read and approved

MEMBERSHIP: 70 family, 19 business memberships received so far

EQUIPMENT:

  • The blade on the Tucker needs to be looked at

TRAILS:

  • This fall, 8 – 9 volunteers showed up each week for trail work, which makes a world of difference
  • Signs are up, trail brushing is progressing, and will continue
  • Culverts installed on ITS 80 washouts
  • Washout next to Chamber fixed
  • Removed downed trees on Dugway, behind the hospital, and below Rt. 107
  • Home Run Road has been fixed
  • There is logging at Willis Park
  • New landowners have been contacted and have given permission for trails

MAPS:

  • Since we are reusing last season’s maps we may ask who wants one rather than sending them out automatically to everyone

OLD BUSINESS:

  • Bob Corthell showed the new trail signs for the Poker Rally, which are reusable each year by simply changing date
  • Muddy River Signs donated signs to put onto donation boxes for local businesses.
  • Allen Sweet from the Snowmobile Safety Program will give a half-hour presentation at January meeting (weather permitting)
  • Club Grant approved; Municipal Grant approved

FUNDRAISERS:

  • 128 tickets have been sold so far for gun raffle

NEW BUSINESS:

  • Winter Carnival Committee is talking about running snowmobile drags (radar run) on Highland Lake – we were asked if we would participate in Winter Carnival, but we are not planning to do so
  • In past years we have donated $250 to Operation Christmas Angel (Fire Dept.)
    • Bob Corthell moved we do it again this year, Bob Pelletier 2nd
    • Voted yes, nobody opposed

CLUB TRIP:

  • The 2017 Club trip will be Feb. 7, 8, 9 (returning home Fri. 2/10)
  • Bill Preis presented details on potential destinations
  • A written vote was taken and the majority voted to go to Bishop’s Motel in Jackman
  • Bob Corthell moved, Bob Pelletier 2nd, that we pay lodging costs for club trip for President and Trail Master – Voted yes, nobody opposed
