Bridgton Easy Riders January Meeting
The business meeting was preceded by an excellent and informative Snowmobile Safety presentation by Alan Swett, a volunteer from MSA.

Minutes of November Meeting were read and approved
MEMBERSHIP: 77 family, 22 business memberships received so far
EQUIPMENT:
- Jim Medcalf researched a complicated problem with the brakes on the newer Tucker. They have now been fixed.
- The track on the newer Tucker has split
TRAILS:
- After a 22 inch snowstorm last week, there were serious challenges trying to groom, especially on our more northern trails
- Since then, rain and warm weather have damaged trails, and groomers found deep water holes in places
- Riders are urged to exercise extreme caution
- Casco and Poland have closed their trails
- We cannot groom until we get more snow
- After a few snowmobiles rode in the cemetery on Kansas Rd., Blaine posted signs
- If the offenders can be identified they will be reported to the Warden Service for follow up
- Trail behind Macdonald Motors needs repair
WEBSITE & FACEBOOK:
- Marci Wilde was thanked for doing a great job keeping those up
- An application to join the Club can be accessed there
- There have been requests for us to use PayPal
- It was noted that trail update information is very useful
MAPS:
- Map boxes, with new signs, are in businesses and are collecting donations
OLD BUSINESS:
- Municipal grant approved for a maximum of $10,003
- Bob Corthell was thanked for arranging this evening’s Snowmobile Safety program
FUNDRAISER:
- 203 tickets have been sold so far for gun raffle
- Poker Rally Feb. 25 at Community Center, a sign up sheet for volunteers was passed around
NEW BUSINESS:
- Bob Corthell is organizing a midweek trip, trailering to Rangeley for a day ride, on Jan 25 or 26
- Last weekend of January is reciprocal weekend with N.H. and Vermont
- A sign honoring the memory of Basil & Rena Ward will be placed on the narrow gauge trestle bridge in So. Bridgton
- They were the “backbone of the Club” for many years, he as Trailmaster, and she as Secretary & Treasurer
- Basil passed away 12/30/16
CLUB TRIP:
- The Club trip will be Feb. 7, 8, 9 (returning home Fri. 2/10) to Bishop’s Motel in Jackman
- 21 people signed up so far
- The pot luck supper that evening (2/10) may consist mostly of pizza, since few will have time to cook
