Bridgton Easy Riders September Meeting

Meeting called to order 6:45 PM by President Blaine Chapman

Treasurer’s Report read by Mary Corthell, Treasurer and accepted

Minutes of April Meeting prepared by Jean Preis were read and accepted

Attendance: 28

MEMBERSHIP: Blaine gave Lega Medcalf the information for preparing the membership mailing

GRANTS:  Municipal Grant of $17,864.00 was deposited Membership & Club Grant are combined.

REGISTRATION PAYMENTS:

  • Return of $ for instate registration was not received
  • Bridgton is not required to pay it back, the Club will need to put the request in the town warrant for 2017
  • No more money is to be paid to the club for fiscal year 2016/17

EQUIPMENT:

  • Tuckers – 3 tracks need to be ordered
  • New Tucker has an oil leak, location to be checked – Peter will work on the leak in Rob Moore’s garage
  • Both had broken down last winter
  • Old Tucker is ready
  • Per Peter:
    • The Tuckers need to run on flat surface
    • Make trails wider to let tracks run flat to prevent damage
    • Need to fix blade
  • New Tucker will be paid for in December

TRAILS:

  • Davis Kimball’s property near Pie Tree Orchard – Blaine and Steve will visit Davis regarding hole from ATV travel
  • Power line & Ridlonville needs excavator work
  • Power line & Woods Pond needs ditching and excavator
  • May not be room for I-189 by Chamber of Commerce – may be better by Todd Perrault & Hayes True Value but would need excavation to get behind Hayes True Value
  • Kezar Road – move trail because of fence
  • Gyger Orchard has washouts – Tom Gyger has culverts but who would put them in
  • Bob Carlson’s property being cabled off because of rubbish and camp fires
  • South Bridgton onto the railroad bed needs attention
  • Otter Pond trail – pallets in mud
  • We paid Rob Moore $5,000 8 years ago for excavating –  22 culverts were bought then by Davis
  • Brushing the trails will start at the end of September or beginning of October
  • Possibly build 8 foot bridges and haul them to sites.

OLD BUSINESS:

  • Video Promotion for Bridgton:  The snowmobiler is not Blaine or Steve but a friend of theirs!
  • Ward Memorial Trail Sign:  We will invite Andrew Merrill to a meeting and have the sign there

NEW BUSINESS:

  • Insurance payment due: $11,000
  • Equipment Grant: Per Jim Medcalf this is new
    • We may be able to get a grant ($180/mile) under $20,000 for equipment
    • We have 65 miles of trails
    • This could help pay for the tracks
  • Poker Rally: Date for rally was discussed
  • Trail Maps: Motion to keep price for ads in map at $65, seonded, unanimous
  • Website:  Marci moved back to Bridgton and will do website – she has started updating and minutes will be posted on the website
  • Communications: Roberta Duquette will send emails
  • Day Trips: Steve Campbell willing to arrange day trips again this year
  • Maine Snowmobile Association:
    • Speakers are available for meetings
    • Bob Corthell will inquire for our October or November meeting
    • Regarding the MSA raffle tickets, Bob requests we sell to our friends and neighbors as we get money back to our club for each ticket we sell
  • Gun Raffle:
    • Last year’s winner Jen from Natick MA finally picked up the gun
    • Discussion of what type of gun to raffle this year
    • Bob Pelletier moved and George Lariviere seconded to raffle a Remington semi-automatic and a shot gun
  • Club Trip:  Bill Preis will come up with options
  • History of this Club:  Bill Warren has the history – Invite him to a meeting

AUGUSTA SNOWMOBILE SHOW is October 20/21
